Evaluation of Power Consumption

An important aspect in the field of embedded systems is low power consumption. With mapping each task to one processor in the LavA project, new possibilities arise for energy management. A processor, whose task is blocked because of an external event, can be stopped until the arrival of, e.g. an interrupt. Furthermore, the required clock frequency for each processor can be estimated and configured by analysing the real-time constraints of a task. A System which realizes multitasking on a processor, must guarantee the real-time properties for each running task. In most cases this results in a waste of energy.
In the progress of the LavA project the concepts to save energy will be integrated in the configurable MPSoC and evaluated.
